đŸ€ŒđŸœ co-op ability: 9.5/10

(how well the game supports teamwork and collaboration between players)

ALOKIN’S RATING: 9/10

Although the game can be played completely solo, it’s enhanced with an additional player and the way the coin sharing is helps the co-op system work in favor of playing together. Now your coins need to be used together and strategize which towers actually need to be upgraded as you plan for the next levels. It gets more collaborative as the levels increase!

OCEANWOLV’S RATING: 10/10

This game highly supports teamwork and collaboration because Bloons is all about strategy. Even though it’s not marketed as co-op, it’s definitely a game to play together because the gameplay becomes a lot more easy and fun. You can double up on the resources, stack your skills, and strategize together on a big map to win every round!

🎹 production quality: 10/10

(the design, artwork, components, and overall craft of the game's materials)

ALOKIN’S RATING: 10/10

The beauty of this game is that it almost never stops growing! Every quarter or so there is an update and new heroes, towers, levels, or challenges are added. This adds so much content and if you’re playing the base, it’s completely free! The only exception is that most of these items are DLC. Game support keeps it exciting and makes you want to play it again and again.

OCEANWOLV’S RATING: 10/10

Bloons delivers high quality production, making the craft accessible and timeless across multiple platforms. Catering to all ages, skill levels, and tech access, its game components include towers, bloons, maps, upgrades, heroes, game modes, economy system, co-op play, and a challenge editor with playful artwork updated every holiday.

🎼 gameplay mechanics: 8/10

(the game's rules, flow, balance, and how engaging and intuitive the gameplay feels)

ALOKIN’S RATING: 6/10

There are some inconsistencies with tower cost and tower strength. This is not clear in the game what the towers ‘actually’ do until you see it. This makes it hard to plan as you encounter new levels and maps. The mobile UI was clunky at-times. As I switched to PC realized I was at a disadvantage on mobile. PC made it easy to macro, upgrade, and navigate.

OCEANWOLV’S RATING: 10/10

Every mode is simple yet complex, meeting a range of different skill levels and interests.

  • Standard: Classic tower defense (three levels of difficulty: easy, medium, hard)

  • Co-Op: Team up with friends (online or local with a shared strategy)

  • Challenges: Test and push your skills (daily refresh, custom rules)

  • Odyssey: Multi-map strategic adventures (limited resources, unique rewards)

đŸ€© overall fun: 10/10

(how enjoyable and entertaining the game is for immediate play and long-term re-playability)

ALOKIN’S RATING: 10/10

One of funnest co-op games I’ve ever played. I give it a perfect score because I don’t think there is anything out there right now that compares to this game within the combination of all the other categories. It stands alone at the top and is no wonder why it has such a big community of new and tenured players alike. This game is a masterpiece.

OCEANWOLV’S RATING: 10/10

Bloons TD 6 is one of the few games we have replayed for years because of its highly customizable, strategic gameplay. It’s not just easy to learn and play, but its layered with dynamic game components and constant upgrades, keeping it fresh, exciting, and fun to come back to! If you love tower defense strategy, this game is 100% made for you.

TIPS TO START

(helpful insights as you begin the game)

ALOKIN’S

  • Don’t get locked into a set of ‘favorite’ towers. Try to expand into all types to know what your library consists of.

  • Pick a Hero that matches your game style - this is important for fun factor and variety.

  • Farming is very important if you want to explore levels past 100.

OCEANWOLV’S

  • Place towers at the front early to stop bloons right away and to prevent health loss. As you earn more money, gradually spread out your towers.

  • Don’t upgrade your Dart Monkey (at least not right away because the bloons in the first rounds are very slow). Prioritize saving up money to invest in your real towers.

  • The Boomerang Monkey is surprisingly powerful at all levels, making it a great low-cost investment in the beginning. This tower only gets stronger with upgrades!
